Serenity Prayer: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
Welcome to my page. My name is Sandra. I'm
a BBW (big beautiful woman) and I live in Vacaville, CA.
I'm happily married to a wonderful man named Elijah. I have a beautiful son
named Ryan who was born six weeks premature on 1/18/01. I was teaching first
grade until I had Ryan. Now I'm a stay at home Mommy. I love working with
children, but I love being home with my baby even more. I have numerous hobbies and
interests, many of them will be covered in more detail on this page. I
collect angels. I do alternative healing. I collect rubber stamps and enjoy crafts. I have a niece and two nephews I
adore. I love comedy clubs and movies. I enjoy dining out as well as
cooking, Mexican is my favorite. I love to flirt and I'm a hopeless
romantic. I enjoy travel and shopping and love a good game of Blackjack.
I'm big on communication and think I'm open minded and interesting. The
rest of the page will tell you more about the things I find important. I
hope you enjoy the information and the links. Please sign my guest book and
let me know that you stopped by!
I love angels! I always have. I collect them and
surround myself with them. I have angel blankets, pillows, pictures, wall
hangings, key chains, frames, jewelry, and knick knacks. I've been collecting
them since even before they became so popular. They comfort me. I feel
guided and protected by the presence of angels. I have no doubt that they
exist. The word angel means "God's Messenger" and I was once given a life
saving message by what I know to be my Guardian Angel. I am a believer.
I think our society is in need of some faith and hope. We see so much negativity
all around us. Angels remind us of love, fun, and protection. They are a
positive force in an increasingly negative environment. The T.V. show "Touched
by an Angel", one of my favorites, has become a hit due to its positive
message and touching storylines. It is a comforting thought to know that
I am being watched, loved, and protected from above at all times, especially
when I'm feeling down. Angels remind me to have faith, to love, and to
laugh. I am so thankful that they are a part of my life. The Internet is
full of angel sites. Here are some of my favorites.
"We too often love things and use people when we should be using things and loving people"
Romance
I consider myself a romantic (maybe even a hopeless
one). I think passion and romance are important and I know that they can
last. People say passion fades, and I know it can, but like any good fire
it just needs stoking and rekindling. I am a very sensual person. I love
candles, bubble baths, champagne, firelight, feathers, and full body massages.
I believe in extended foreplay. I think touching is a basic human need
(one that I can't get enough of). To me romance is about the little things
you do to show you care. It doesn't have to be a dozen roses, an expensive
dinner, a limo ride, fancy vacation, or diamonds; although those things
are wonderful. Romance can be shown through small gestures such as: a single
rose, greeting cards, making dinner, a hug or kiss, saying "I love you",
rubbing tired feet, a phone call during the day to say "I miss you", small
gifts, or a massage. I am fortunate to have a husband who believes in romance as
much as I do. Romance can happen daily, it doesn't have to be saved
for special occassions. Here's a great quote I found which sums up how
I see romance: "Romance isn't lust or a legally binding partnership. It
is the physical manifestation of love without taking your clothes off."
There are tons of romance web sites. Here are some of my favorites , as
well as a few poetry sites. Enjoy.

BBW
I am a BBW (big beautiful woman) and have been
my entire adult life. I think I am very sexy and attractive, although not
all men would think so. It's somewhat difficult being a larger person in
a society that worships thin. However, I know that over 50% of American
women are a size 14 or up, so really being a BBW is the norm. I was pleasantly
surprised when I went online and discovered FAs. It's great to see how
many men there are out there who think I'm beautiful just the way I am.
I have found someone who sees my inner beauty as the most important thing,
yet still lusts after my outer beauty. I am soft, curvy, and round. I take
pride in myself. I dress well, smell great, and smile often. I also love
lingerie and sexy clothes. I am assertive and confident. My self esteem
is high. I enjoy reading BBW magazine and anything else that is fat positive.
I make no excuses for my size, nor do I allow anyone to put me down. There
is simply more of me to love. Here are some sites on the Internet related
to being a BBW that I hope you will enjoy.
"We are not human beings having a spiritual experience,
we are spiritual beings having a human experience"
My spiritual beliefs are based mostly on metaphysics.
I believe there is more going on in the Universe than what we can see with
our eyes. I am highly intuitive and recognize this as my sixth sense. I
don't believe in every metaphysical concept, but I am open minded. I know
there isn't one right way, one right answer, or one right religion. I do
believe in a Supreme Being and I choose to call it God. I feel that the
line between the physical world and the spiritual world is a fine line.
I know that I receive support, guidance, and love from the other side on
a daily basis. Some of the concepts I believe in are: soul mates, reincarnation,
karma, angels, UFO's, aliens, ghosts, and psychic phenomenon. I feel connected
to the Universe and know my place in it. There is a great wealth of information
on the New Age on the Internet. These are a few of my favorite sites.
Time is the best teacher, unfortunately it kills all of its students.
Alternative Healing
I am a holistic healing practitioner. I have been
doing body work for over five years now and I love it. I have a business called
An "Angel's Touch". It's great to be able to boost people's immunity, to
help them relax, and to make them feel good. I believe in Western medicine,
but I feel we need to be more responsible for our own health. There is
a strong mind-body connection and we are the only one who can put it to
good use. Doctors treat symptoms, not causes, and they avoid preventive
care all together. There is more to being healthy than medicine can provide.
We need to learn to take care of our bodies before they ever get sick.
I think herbs and vitamins, as well as forms of stress relief are a good
start. I believe in many types of alternative healing and health care but
am involved in only three. They are: Reiki, Foot Reflexology, and ear candling.
Reiki is an ancient holistic system of healing involving the laying on
of hands in order to balance the mind, body, and spirit. The energy induces
a state of complete relaxation. Other benefits include: improved health, reduced
stress, pain relief, and accelerated healing. Foot Reflexology is a holistic
form of preventive health care which combines Chinese accupressure and
foot massage. It stimulates over 7000 nerve endings and activates the natural
healing power of the body. Benefits include: improved circulation, reduced
stress, revitalized energy, a more efficient immune system, and deep relaxation.
Ear candling is a simple, safe, gentle, but ancient natural method of ear
hygiene. It is done by placing a special beeswax candle in the ear and
lighting it. Due to the cone shape of the candle a vacuum is formed. This
vacuum draws out the wax and impurities in the ear canal while stimulating
energy points. It is equivalent to the doctor using a water syringe in
his office to clean the ears, only better. Not only is it good hygiene
and relaxing, but it also helps to prevent colds, improves hearing, clears
the body of toxins, relieves tinnitus, helps post nasal drip, and regulates
ear pressure. During the session a facial massage is also done. This technique
is not only healthy but very relaxing as well. Some interesting links for
more information on these three techniques follow.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute
of it.
Teaching
"Teachers do it for the outcome, not the income"
I am an elementary school teacher. I am currently
teaching first grade in a low income culturally diverse public school. I
have worked with children as long as I can remember and I always knew I
wanted to. I went to college and was torn between becoming a children's
counselor and a teacher; counseling won out. I spent 6 unhappy years
listening to terrible stories about children and working with some truly
messed up kids. I was a good counselor, but I couldn't leave it at work. I
was unsatisfied and knew I needed to do something else. I wanted a job
that I could feel good about. I decided to go back to school and give
teaching a shot. I started attending Chapman University. They have a good
but difficult multiple subject credential program. I was substituting full
time and going to graduate school. It was hard, but it has all paid off. I
am in a job now that I feel good about even though I go home exhausted
every day and spend many hours working late at school or at home. No one
ever told me it would be this difficult, but it is also very rewarding! I
work hard, but I make a difference in children s lives. It is amazing to
watch them grow and learn. I love working with the younger children
because they love school and they are so excited about learning new
things. Teaching takes immense patience, flexibility, and creativity.
Mostly it takes heart and soul, not to mention blood, sweat, and tears.
Teaching is not just my job, it is my career. I am good at it. I hope to
teach for many years to come. Being a first year teacher is the worst most
stressful year a teacher will have. Here are some of the sites I ve found
which helped make it more bearable.
